I hold New York State Teacher Certificate and a master degree in Teaching Chinese as a second language at Hunter College, CUNY, New York. I also hold a doctorate degree in East Asian History at Sun Yat-sen University, China.
Experience
I have been tutoring and teaching Chinese and Japanese for around ten years from children to adults in various settings, such as in college, in public library, in community school and in corporate training. I believe that effective learning should be stress-free and full of joy. That is my primary teaching approach. Regarding learning a second language, it broadens my horizons, improves my critical thinking skills and enriches my life. I would like to share the benefits with my students and incorporate these values into my language teaching. I do tutoring when I prefer to a flexible schedule to take care of my family.
