I am currently finishing my PhD in History at Carnegie Mellon University. I have a Masters in History, also from Carnegie Mellon University, with a GPA of 3.91. I received my BAs in both History and German Language and Literature from Marquette University with a GPA of 3.83. I have also passed Doctoral Qualifying Exams in German History, Soviet History, Early Modern European Cultural History, and German Literature after 1945.
Experience
I am a passionate educator, and I thoroughly enjoy working both in a formal classroom setting, and in working with students in a one on one fashion. Over the last five years I have acted as a Teaching Assistant for several iterations of Global Histories at both Carnegie Mellon University and Carnegie Mellon University Qatar. I have acted as a Teaching Assistant for classes covering globalization since 1492, the development of the Nation-State as a global phenomenon, and world history since the Sumerians. I also acted as the sole instructor for The Development of European Culture 1500-Present, which covered the interconnectivity of European cultural, political, economic, and social developments after the end of the Renaissance. In my capacity as both an instructor and Teaching Assistant, I have graded over 1000 college essays, and I have a strong background in providing writing assistance at the college level.
