Private tutor in Pittsburgh, PA
Education
University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus - Bachelors, Chemical Engineering
Experience
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015 with my bachelor's in chemical engineering. My academics reflect my love for math and science. As a high school student, I helped my fellow students prepare for their exams and review material after school. I spent my undergraduate years researching epidemiology, reaction engineering, robotics, and geology, among other science and engineering topics. As a tutor, my goal is to impart my love for these subjects onto my students while helping them build the skills necessary to succeed. I base my teaching methods upon linear education, starting by strengthening their knowledge of earlier concepts and building upon those into more advanced ones. Understanding the core principles is vital to higher education, allowing students to tackle any problem thrown their way. I enjoy seeing students learn how to figure things out on their own. I can tutor elementary through college-level students in algebra, calculus, AP physics, and other subjects. In addition I can provide SAT and other standardized test prep, strategies, and support to boost their performance on the exam. Outside of the classroom, I am very passionate about music. I play the cello and guitar. I am an avid reader with a love for Neil Gaiman and Kurt Vonnegut.
