I am a Chatham University alumni, certified to teach PreK-4th grade in Pennsylvania and proficient in Spanish. I graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Education and completed my student teaching at the Environmental Charter School. My experiences outside of the classroom have equipped me with highly effective teaching tools.

My experiences outside of the classroom have equipped me with highly effective teaching tools. I have traveled to Thailand, the Dominican Republic, the Amazon Jungle and Zambia for service work. I founded an equestrian center twenty-five minutes from Pittsburgh in 2007 and manage this company. Moreover, I direct summer camps through The Ellis School and founded Pony Passion Camp at Winchester Thurston. I am an honest, resilient, reliable and creative individual. I want to bring my unique experiences into the classroom to create a positive learning environment to help produce socially responsible and globally competent individuals. As part of my pre-professional and professional experiences, I have delegated tasks, collaborated extensively, pioneered new ideas and worked with educators, medical professionals, artists and athletes alike. I believe that we are all lifelong learners and have the right to feel safe, respected, challenged, loved and empowered. I tailor each lesson toward individual student needs through the use of Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. I believe that each students is capable of great achievement. I have experience teaching English in Thailand and Spanish in a classroom/tutor setting in the United States. I am proficient in Spanish and can read/write French. I am currently enrolled in a TESOL program and provide engaging activities for English Language Learners. My ability to speak Spanish and my PreK-4th grade Pennsylvania State Certification qualifies me to work with native and non native speakers. Lessons are tailored to individual needs through a variety of methods to help students acquire and utilize language skills. My lesson plans align with PDE state standard requirements. I use a variety of teaching methods and both formative and summative assessment. I integrate subjects across the curriculum to help activate prior knowledge and provide opportunities for students to use new material.

Hobbies
While I'm not working on academia, you can find me running our equestrian stable with 11 horses! I am an avid equestrian and have over 10+ years of experience training both children and adults.
