I've been a babysitter/tutor since I was 13 so I have about 10 years of helping students with their reading, writing, basic math skills. I scored in the mid 1600s on my SATs and 20 on my ACTs. I want to be a tutor because I love helping others, and there's no better feeling than helping someone grasp a concept they were struggling with.

Hobbies

I used to be a pre-professional ballet student with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School during my years in elementary through high school. I found the perfect balance between my extracurricular activities and schoolwork in such a way that I was able to excel in AP and other accelerated classes. A balance between school world and social/sports world is pertinent to a student's learning environment and capability. I am also an avid reader. Literature was my focus in college, and analyzing and grasping different perceptions of written work is enjoyable, as well as easy, to me. Starting from elementary school I was placed in advanced reading and math courses. I decided to focus on reading years later because it's more enjoyable. I'm still more than capable of tutoring for math, as well as a variety of other courses offered at any grade level.
