I'm currently a junior Fiction Writing major at the University of Pittsburgh. I also have dual certificates in Public and Professional Writing as well as Children's Literature.
Experience
I'm currently employed as a Peer Tutor in the Writing Center at Pitt. I extensively trained in how to work effectively with writing via a semester long training course, and then an additional semester of interning and researching writing pedagogy. I've worked with students on anything from dissertations to resumes; I love working with students in all aspects of the writing process. I've had several internships so far in my college career that relate closely with writing. Over the summer, I worked as a social media intern for a website that required me to write advertising copy and employ effective marketing strategies. This semester, I'm working as an editorial intern at Hot Metal Bridge. This requires me to read and edit submissions, write blog posts on the literary community, and solicit authors. I've taken many courses at Pitt that have prepared me for working with all kinds of writers: Written Professional Communications, Literary Journals and Online Publishing, Persuasive Writing in Advertising and Fundraising, and several fiction workshops.

Hobbies
I'm an avid reader and writer, and that love carries into my ability to work with students and really champion the work they're doing. I love dead languages and ancient history. I love the arts, and participate in choirs on campus as well as theatre festivals. Although I'm originally from New England, I've fallen in love with the Pittsburgh area.
