Experience

My tutoring philosophy is to approach students as individuals with unique ways of learning. I've worked as a tutor for a few years, and I've seen that my students need different approaches. For example, if I explain something in one way to a student, they might get it, but a different student might not. I always come prepared with different teaching methods so my tutoring students gain mastery of their coursework more quickly and easily. I have a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences, along with a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine, which I received at the University of Pittsburgh. I began my tutoring career in high school, as part of our school's "Homework Club." I also helped my classmates as an undergraduate when they struggled with a subject. I can help almost anyone on nearly any subject, including all grade levels of mathematics, sciences, history, and English. I can also help with reading comprehension and writing skills, including upper level literature and composition courses. I can tutor psychology, critical reading, and standardized and college test preparation. When I'm not tutoring, I love to stay active by dancing, running, doing yoga, and generally enjoying the great outdoors.
