Experience

I have been teaching social studies and education courses at the secondary, masters and doctoral levels for fifteen years. My research, writing, content area expertise, and experience as a teacher combine to give you high quality instruction at a very high level. As a current teacher educator, I observe my student teachers throughout the school year and am aware of what secondary teachers are looking for in student work. I enjoy teaching students from diverse backgrounds. I spent seven years teaching in urban public schools and have taught abroad as well.

I love to engage in outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, and backbacking. I prioritize travel both stateside and abroad and recently spent three weeks in Cuba! I spent five summers leading students in service learning abroad. I am currently teaching masters level courses at various international schools, although this is sporadic. I enjoy dancing, yoga, and good food! I
