Education
I attended the University of Central Florida and graduated in 2011. I graduated with a Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders. During my time at UCF, I spent over 100 hours observing and working with teachers/therapists. My focus was on Speech/Language Pathology and Special Education. During my college years, I studied strategies for students who need help understanding the complicated standards that are being taught today. My main focus was on Special Education but I was also taught many different strategies for students in all different developmental stages from struggling students to gifted students.
Experience
I recently moved to Pittsburgh from Tampa, Fl. In Tampa, I worked as a reading therapist for two years at a private tutoring company. I provided one on one reading tutoring/therapy based on the specific needs of the child. Most of my focus was on reading but I also tutored students in Math as well. I have experience teaching for four years in the public school system. I have a teaching certificate in Special Education and am a qualified teacher. I am up to date on all of the new standards and curriculum that is required of students.
