My college career began by completing my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. From there, I went on to study at New York University, where I completed my master's degree in mental health counseling. I'm currently a student at Duquesne University, where I'm working to complete my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Over the years, I've led numerous workshops that focused on academic writing and graded hundreds of term papers. I genuinely care about the success of my students, and I use the skills that I learned while studying psychology when I tutor. I believe that learning should be empowering, challenging, and meaningful, and I work with my students to teach them how to learn and overcome obstacles that keep them from taking a productive approach to learning. I tutor students in a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, literature, psychology, public speaking, social sciences, Arabic, poetry, poetry writing, English, vocabulary, grammar, world literature, philosophy, sociology, and political science. I also offer test prep services to help students prepare for the SAT and ACT, tutor International Baccalaureate students in philosophy, psychology, social and cultural anthropology, and theory of knowledge, and work with ESL/ELL students.
