Experience
As someone passionate about Latin American culture, I have worked to share my knowledge of the language and culture with others. With an extensive education in the Spanish language, I have used my skills to not just teach in a traditional classroom setting but also in other venues. I have worked with the military as an interpreter for the Navy and Army reserves and my abilities were useful in Central American hospitals and clinics. I have also tutored students of all ages, including teaching Spanish to players in the NFL. Italian is actually my native language and I also have experience tutoring in that language as well. One of the most crucial things to remember when learning a new language is that the language is directly tied to the culture and history of that nationality. Teaching students about the customs and background of a culture at the same time the language is covered allows for a better understanding of the language itself.I possess several degrees at this time, including a B.A. in Spanish culture and a Master of Education. When I'm not teaching I enjoy outdoor activities, hockey, playing the guitar, and spending time with my wife and children.
