I earned a Master of Science degree in Psychology at Chatham University. My bachelor's degree is from Penn State University, majoring in Communications, Arts, and Sciences and minoring in International Studies. My current goal is to complete a master's degree in dietetics and become a certified dietitian. I have several years of experience teaching psychology and working with children with learning disabilities and behavioral disorders.My approach to learning emphasizes having fun and collaborating to get students involved in the material. My background in psychology has given me in-depth understanding of ways to maximize studying and deal with emotions related to classes and tests. What I find most rewarding about tutoring is that I am able to give students the skills and understanding they need to be independent thinkers and believe in their abilities. I can tutor various levels of mathematics and writing, as well as study skills and test preparation. My favorite subject to teach is Psychology, because I find it most relevant to real-life situations.In my free time, I take voice lessons and practice singing. In the kitchen, I enjoy experimenting with nutritious recipes. I stay active by playing kickball, football, and generally enjoying the outdoors.
