I was a tutor while I was in high school, where I created a program for English, mathematics, science, and social studies at the middle school level. Currently, I tutor these subjects plus biology and history. From algebra to college essays and test prep (I'm certified to tutor students getting ready for the SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT), I can help a student reach their academic goals and overcome challenging subjects through caring, one on one instruction. I also tutored when I was in college; I was president of a company that provides Pittsburgh-area Somali-Bantu refugees with ESL services. In addition, I was an organizer for a summer camp offering career preparation and allowing creative expression for refugee students.Tutoring is something I am really passionate about. I think it enriches the student's educational experience, and education is what's needed to build a foundation someone needs to grow on. That foundation allows for unlimited growth and potential in school and in one's career.I am a Health Information Management major, and junior, at the University of Pittsburgh. Reading is one of my favorite things to do because I think it enriches one's life as much as a solid education.
