Why I Want to Tutor: Being able to communicate clearly and correctly is a critical skill for any future academic or work-related endeavors. If your student is struggling with writing assignments, I want to be able to point them in the right direction in terms of what they want to say, how best to say it, and how to connect their ideas in a cohesive manner. The instruction would include how best to incorporate outside sources, as most college writing assignments will require this skill. I can also assist in developing effective study techniques. Every student learns differently, and targeting review methods to suit their strengths increases their chances of retaining the material. I myself am a visual learner, and need to see things written or drawn out on paper to remember them. For others, flashcards or mnemonic devices might be the best way. I want to help your student figure out what works for them.
