Experience
Animals have always fascinated me. I took this interest and turned in into my academic passion. I started my college education while I was still a high school student and graduated from college with honors and a degree in Biology. While I studied Anthropology and Chemistry in college, I became passionate about Organic Chemistry. I ended up working at a natural products lab and then an embryology lab. I've continued my own education and research as a Ph.D. student in Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. My doctoral research involves the cellular and biochemical processes involving epinephrine signaling regulation. As a doctoral student, I have taught within the local community as well as assisted in university-level courses. I've mentored high school students at educational events and seminars. I also taught as a volunteer at a science camp for teenage girls. This camp was organized by the Peace Corps and focused on the environment, neuroscience, and cardio physiology. I always look forward to combining my experience and insight to help others fully grasp the concepts and dialogue within math and science. I like to incorporate real life examples into each teaching or tutoring interaction. My tutoring focus is on the sciences, including biology, cell biology, evolution, and genetics. I'm always willing to go beyond these subjects, however, as much of my knowledge and experience applies beyond the sciences.
