I consider myself a community advocate of strong education for our youth. I believe that our education greatly determines our success in life and, because of that, it should be a priority in our communities. I strive to impart my mission through my tutoring career with my students, their parents, and my community as a whole. My academic pursuits reflect my teaching pedagogy. I earned my Bachelor of Science and Arts in International Business and Marketing from Georgetown University. I gained tutoring and teaching experiences while I was in college. I was part of a mentor program called the Georgetown University Young Scholars. I also worked with DC Reads, which is a program designed specifically to eliminate illiteracy with students within the DC public school system. I got to work with students from ages 5 through 18 years old. Working with these students gifted me the opportunity to evolve my teaching methods and style. I am available to tutor a wide range of subjects. My favorite subjects to tutor are English and literature studies, comprehension, and reading. It is important to develop trust with the student before our formal work can begin. I find that the most productive and effective tutoring sessions begin with open dialogue.
