Previous work as a preschool teacher; love working with kids and enjoy helping them learn about complex ideas in a creative and "accessible" way; I've taken psychology, social psychology and developmental psychology which I think has helped me understand how people (especially children) learn; I have excellent written and communication skills and am usually the person that friends come to when they need their papers (even master's theses) edited. I have conversational level Spanish skills with some formal training in Arabic and Mandarin. I've lived overseas (Japan) for over 3 years and traveled to a dozen other countries, so I've got fairly extensive multi-cultural experience. I have found this to be extremely beneficial in communicating with people who are learning English. (I'd be happy to tutor adults or children in this area)

Hobbies
I am an outgoing and bubbly "big kid" at heart. I have always been interested in how children learn and how best to make ideas accessible to them. I am the "go to" friend for babysitting and have always been told that I was "made" to be a teacher. After being inspired by my brilliant and curious 3 1/2 year old nephew, I've recently started writing educational books for the "6 and under" group of kids which I am ecstatic about! I love learning new languages, traveling, gardening, history, writing, the outdoors, and kids!
