I've been tutoring for more than 20 years in many different ways. My first tutoring experience happened in high school. As a junior and senior I was part of a program which helped elementary and middle school children in all subjects. Later in college, I volunteered to lead study groups in biochemistry and microbiology. In graduate school, where I received a master's degree in Biology, I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate and graduate science courses. Following graduate school, I began working in an academic research laboratory. I've been in this position for over 9 years. Throughout those years I've been able to mentor students from undergraduate to fellowship level. I find that everyone has a different way of learning, and once you find that way there's no stopping you. Sometimes a simple change in explanation can open up a student to understanding. I enjoy taking hard concepts and explaining them in everyday language that students can relate to. I hope to help in any way possible!
