I am mainly a chemistry tutor but also help with anatomy, physical science, algebra, and middle school math. High school and college chemistry is what I enjoy tutoring the most; specifically helping the students improve their understanding in areas such as general/organic chemistry and biochemistry. When tutoring, I ask lots of questions to get the student thinking; they need to think about the problem and how to connect it to real life situations. Currently, I am a college chemistry instructor. I work at Highline Community College and have been teaching my favorite subject for more than seven years. I have run a high school science program for after school participants and have instructed at several higher education institutions. In addition, I am still a student myself. I attend the University of Illinois at Chicago and am working towards a PhD in learning sciences. The program is focused on research into the ways people learn; the information gathered is used to design more conducive learning environments. I earned a Master in Chemistry from the university as well.In my downtime, when not busy being a professor, student, or tutor, I like to read, cook, and play with my puppy.
