I am currently working as a teacher, a writer, and as the editor in chief for an online publication. My two passions in life are writing and education, which is why I've been teaching college-level English for the past 11 years. Being able to communicate effectively is essential for success in the professional and academic settings. People without a strong understanding of English often lack the same opportunities as those who can eloquently express themselves, which is why it's important that everyone gets the same access to a quality education. My goal is to empower students by giving them the tools necessary to succeed in every aspect of life, not just the classroom. Along with teaching English, I try to help my students develop critical thinking skills so they're able to overcome challenges when they're out in the world. I also have experience English as a Second Language in Chengdu, China. This exciting opportunity helped me learn different ways to interact with students, while also gaining some insight into another language and culture. When I'm not working as a teacher, I like to spend time building my online journal. My other hobbies include reading, camping, hiking, and spending time with my friends and family.
