Experience
I believe that the best way to understand something is to take an inquisitive approach, where you think and rethink about challenges while brainstorming solutions. I grew up in El Salvador and attended college in the United States at Carnegie Mellon University, where I received a degree in environmental policy and architecture. I am someone who enjoys learning and experiencing new things, which is a skill that I want to share with my students. A large portion of my work experience has been in Philadelphia, where I helped ensure that economically disadvantaged residents had access to affordable housing. I'm currently living in Miami and teaching Spanish to people of all levels, as well as math and social studies. My goal is to use my own passion and experiences to inspire a new generation of lifelong learners. I am eager to work with students in a one-on-one capacity so that they get the hands-on assistance they need to succeed. I believe that everyone has the ability to do great things in the classroom when they're able to work with someone who's able to motivate them to work harder and set bigger goals. When I'm not teaching, I like to go on hikes and listen to music.
