Experience
I earned my bachelor's in biology with a psychology minor at Allegheny College. I graduated in 2015 and moved to Pittsburgh to start working for Springdale's PPG company as a lab technician, where I use chemistry knowledge to test electrocoat paints for viability. I began tutoring students in science topics as a means of giving back to the community. While I work full time hours with PPG, I am available for tutoring after six PM during the week, as well as weekends if scheduled ahead of time. During high school and college, I served as a biology tutor for AP biology students preparing for their end of the year exam. I also spent two summers working at Maine Prep, tutoring students on the SAT subject test in Biology. Maine Prep introduced me to the important skills necessary for successful tutoring, including understanding the student's personality and goals, building confidence, and using a variety of learning tools. Among the biology subjects I am strong in, I tutor students in life sciences, microbiology, and honors chemistry. When I'm not tutoring or working, I enjoy the chance to relax and wind down after a long day. I love to play video games online and read books.
