I have a B.S. in Psychology with several years' experience working with children of all ages in a caretaker setting. Although the work was rewarding, my heart was not in it. I decided to go back to school to pursue a career in a STEM field; I fell in love with math while reviewing concepts for a math placement test. I enrolled for a semester at George Mason University working towards a bachelor's in mathematics but am currently taking a sabbatical for a year from school. I received an A.S. in Mathematics (to make the process easier) with a GPA of 3.902 (all A's in math and science courses) from Northern Virginia Community College in December 2015.
Experience
I am passionate about everything to do with math including the history, the proofs, the myriad applications, and the constant challenge. The best thing about tutoring is that moment when a student finally understands a concept they just couldn't tackle on their own. I not only will facilitate the problem-solving process of homework but review and if necessary introduce the concepts and reasoning behind formulas and applications. I have taken the following courses from an accredited college with a final grade of an 'A': Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, General University Physics 1, Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and General University Physics 2.

Hobbies
I love reading non-fiction, biographies, fantasy, and thrillers. I enjoy hiking and hope to some day conquer Barr Trail, the trail that leads to the top of Pikes Peak. I do puzzles or math problems almost every day. I love watching period pieces, soft science fiction, fantasy, and British shows. I, almost daily, listen to music such as rock, classical, and techno. I hope to one day go to graduate school and become a professor.
