Experience
My education is mostly in math/statistics, and I have relevant experience teaching and tutoring at colleges. I've spent hundreds of hours tutoring and teaching students in a variety of topics, both mathematical (from arithmetic to linear algebra) and non-mathematical (from grammar to chemistry). Please look below for a list of subjects I've studied/tutored in - and just ask if you have any questions! I've always enjoyed tutoring and preferred it to classroom teaching because of the opportunity to get to know individual students. Whether you're interested in math or not, I will be happy to help you. My own past "math anxiety" makes me a sympathetic teacher, and I think you'll find me a reliable, patient, and non-judgmental tutor. Some subjects taken/tutored for: Discrete math Real analysis Numerical analysis Topology Linear algebra/matrices Differential equations Partial differential equations Logic Statistics (from probability to graduate level statistical theory; some statistical computing) Abstract algebra Basic chemistry/physics/biochemistry Human genetics Latin/Greek Grammar Courses taught/TA-ed for: Arithmetic (CCAC, adjunct prof.) Business Calculus (La Roche, adjunct prof.) Pre-calculus (Pitt, TA) Business Calculus (Pitt, TA) Calculus I (Pitt, instructor & TA) Calculus III (TA, Pitt) Other: National Merit Scholar National AP Scholar Award (scored 6 5's and 3 4's on AP tests) Received undergraduate degrees summa cum laude from Pitt with A's in all math courses SAT 2290 GRE 1480

Hobbies
I spend most of my time working on research or coursework as a PhD student in human genetics. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and practicing piano - usually with my pet bird on my shoulder. If you'd like to work together on something, don't hesitate to ask! I'm a patient tutor and enjoy explaining things - especially things I found difficult learning the first time around.
