Education

Graduate of the University of Evansville - BFA, Creative Writing/Literature (2014) GPA: 3.86 Graduate of Ross High School (Valedictorian, 2010). Have taken AP Calculus, AP English, AP US History, and AP Biology, as well as the ACT, SAT, and GRE. Extensively re-taught myself algebra in order to serve as a more effective tutor at my day job.

Experience

I have 3 years experience in tutoring writing at the college level, including working in the student writing center and serving as a teaching assistant for English Composition courses. Before (and during) that, I was a diligent straight A student with a 4.0 GPA in high school and a 3.86 GPA in college. For two years, I served as a college prep counselor, tutor, and mentor in AmeriCorps, where I tutored COMPASS writing, reading, and math. I also tutored college-level writing, reading, and math with currently enrolled college students. Presently I'm finishing up my Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and working as a Teaching Assistant. I love sitting down and explaining things different ways until we get that lightbulb moment!

Hobbies

My tutoring approach is friendly and casual. I try to take the stress out of learning as much as possible and enjoy explaining material in new ways. Outside of work, hobbies include cooking, running, yoga, Zumba, reading, and of course writing. When it's warm, I enjoy being outside, going hiking, and camping. I have an adorable cat named Artemis and am a cat aunt to my roommate's cat, Sipper.
