I'm a graduate of Brown University with 9 years of combined experience as a certified teacher and SAT/ACT tutor. I am one of the founders of Allegheny Test Prep and Tutoring Services. As a high school student, I earned SAT scores of 800 (Reading), 780 (Math), and 800 (Writing). Since then, I've earned a master's degree in education from Brown University and collaborated with multiple test prep companies to develop practice questions, grammar guides, and sample writing passages. I enjoy helping students to succeed! My individualized approach to tutoring and my experience as a teacher will ensure that your child receives the personalized attention and support that he or she deserves. There are so many things that you can do to bring up your scores, and I love helping students to perform their best on the test. I've worked with hundreds of students who live throughout and around the Pittsburgh area, including Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, Peters Twp, Robinson Twp, Sewickley, Scott Twp, Green Tree, Hampton, Squirrel Hill, Oakland, Regent Square, Fox Chapel, Jefferson Hills, Dormont, Irwin, Monroeville, and more. I am happy to meet you at a local library or other location that's more convenient for you. I'm also available for online tutoring through a combination of Skype and iDroo. For each student, I design a personalized curriculum, which includes a detailed learning plan, practice questions, and assignments that are individually tailored to the student’s individual strengths and needs. Using this customized approach, my students see significant score increases on the SAT/ACT - and increase their confidence in taking standardized tests! Our consultation session will begin with a conversation about your SAT/ACT experiences and goals so that I can start getting to know you and your learning style. You will complete a brief diagnostic test for a preliminary look at your strengths and weaknesses. Using this information, I'll create a personalized plan for you. Your comprehensive learning plan will outline key focus areas and a list of lessons that will help improve your understanding of core concepts. One of the most important aspects of my approach is the assessment process. I offer frequent check-ins so that I can assess your progress and adapt your learning plan as needed. These assessments will show us how you might score on the actual test, allowing us to measure your growth as you work toward your target scores.
