I have a certificate in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from the internationally-renowned Boston Language Institute. I am qualified to teach English as a Second or Foreign language both in America and abroad.
|Experience:||I am currently serving refugees and immigrants in Pittsburgh with AmeriCorps. I am teaching advanced ESL classes and am looking to take a few private language clients, for English, Italian, or Spanish.|
I have been tutoring Spanish, Italian, and English since August of 2012. I have experience tutoring all levels of Spanish and Italian, including beginning language learners.
The TEFL certificate I earned gave me top-notch instruction and hands-on practice teaching English as a Second Language.
I love being a teacher and tutor because the social sciences are often viewed as "easier" or not as important. Yet, the social sciences, including history and language, are challenging for many students and are of immense importance. I strive to make history and social studies interesting for students, and I work to make language learners more confident in their speaking, writing, grammatical, listening, and reading skills so they can communicate more effectively with others.
